Other services ask
your loved one to
do the work alone.

While some companies send weekly email prompts or mail a questionnaire, we do things differently.

Daphne conducts a series of deep, guided interviews. She asks the questions most people have never been asked. She listens for what lives underneath: the stories but also the wisdom, the hard-won knowing, the essence of who your loved one truly is. So you can carry them with you, always.

And Erica brings her photographer's and designer's eye to every single book. For local sessions, she photographs your loved one throughout the conversation: candid, present, radiant. For remote sessions, you send the photos you already love, and Erica edits, restores, and custom designs the entire book with the same devotion she brings to all her work.

Either way, the book is entirely tailor-made — and entirely yours.

We meet you where you are.

We either come to your loved one's home or Daphne interviews by phone. The intimacy and depth of the experience is the same either way.

02

Two artists, one experience.

Daphne interviews with decades of practiced listening in person or by phone. Erica brings her photographer's eye to every image, whether she captured them or is curating your family's own photos. The result is always unmistakably personal.

03

The book is always carefully curated.

Whether Erica photographed your loved one or is working with photos you've sent, she brings her photographer's eye and designer's hand to every single page. Each book is a one-of-a-kind, archival heirloom.

How a Legacy Session unfolds

Two paths. One purpose. The same depth of care, wherever you are in the world.

One experience — in person or by phone. For local families, Daphne and Erica come to your loved one's home. For families farther away, Daphne interviews by phone with the same presence and depth — and Erica works with the family photographs you already treasure, restoring and editing them with a photographer's eye and hand. Either way, you will receive a book made entirely for you, with our care and intention, from the very first conversation to the final page.

01

The Pre-Interview

Before anything else, Daphne calls your loved one for a warm 30-minute conversation. A chance to get to know one another, build trust and connection and start the beautiful journey into your loved one's life.

02

The Interview & Images

Legacy clients: Daphne guides a 2-hour conversation in your loved one's home while Erica photographs your loved one and the items that matter most to them.

Remote clients: Daphne interviews by phone with the same unhurried depth. You send Erica your family photos to be curated and transformed.

03

The Legacy Book

Erica hand-selects and edits every image. Daphne curates the words that most truly capture who your loved one is. Together, they create a one-of-a-kind heirloom book. Something your family will return to for generations. Delivered in 4–6 weeks.

One experience. Crafted entirely for you.

The scope, depth, and shape of your Legacy Book is determined together — on your discovery call, before anything begins.

The experience speaks for itself

The book is amazing. The care that went into everything from the pre-interview communications, to the connection mom felt with both of you during the interview is so evident in this beautiful book. Such a gift.

— May

I'd never been interviewed or professionally photographed before. Daphne and Erica were so skilled, I could not believe I came across so well. And the book — it's just beautiful. I'm extremely pleased.

— Jake

My time with Daphne and Erica was so much more than I expected. Daphne has this ability to pull out memories I didn't even think about until she asked a follow-up question. And Erica just has this way of making you feel like you're playing. What a great experience.

Erica Scott and Daphne Cohn — The Legacy Project

Two artists. Thirty-five years of
seeing and listening.

Erica Scott
Photographer & Legacy Book Designer

With 20+ years of portrait work across the US and around the world, Erica photographs people in their most authentic, ease-filled moments. She has designed hundreds of bespoke books for her clients over that same career. See her work at ericamueller.com.

Daphne Cohn
Interviewer & Storyteller

Daphne is a master interviewer praised by guests as one of the best they've ever spoken with. She has a gift for creating such safety in conversation that people discover insights they've never voiced before. See her work at daphnecohn.com.

The Legacy Project began long before it had a name in two parallel paths quietly moving toward each other. Erica has spent two decades creating luminous portraits that celebrate people in the truth of who they are. Her time as a volunteer with the Center for Conscious Living and Dying in Asheville opened something even deeper in her work.

Daphne has spent decades in profound conversation, interviewing teachers, visionaries, and everyday people with extraordinary depth. When her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, the urgency of preserving stories became visceral and personal.

They first met in 2018. From that meeting grew a friendship and from that friendship, an offering to families and future generations: Your story matters. And now is the time to tell it.

Our belief
